Welcome to Main Camp Resort in Zellingen – an idyllic, year-round campsite located directly on the River Main in Franconia, Bavaria. Surrounded by vineyards, nature and historic towns, our campsite offers spacious pitches, cozy sleeping barrels and a unique panoramic view of the Benediktushöhe.
Whether you are planning an active holiday, a cycling tour along the River Main or relaxing days by the water – here you will find pure relaxation, nature and Franconian charm.

Our Pitches
Our spacious pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents are located in the beautiful natural surroundings of Franconia, directly on the River Main. Currently, our campsite is being extensively modernised and expanded by around 45 additional pitches as well as a new reception and sanitary building – creating even more space for relaxed camping in the future.
Enjoy nature-based camping with plenty of space and direct access to cycling and hiking trails – ideal for a short break, a stopover or a relaxing holiday on the River Main.
Insider tip:
- Pitches 01–18 are located directly on the riverbank.
- Motorhome pitches are available at our motorhome harbour – also bookable for self-sufficient stays without shower facilities.
Our Sleeping Barrels
Our cozy sleeping barrels offer a unique camping experience in the heart of nature. They are ideal for 2 adults (additional children on request) and provide a comfortable stay at the campsite.
Equipped with electricity, heating and a pull-out table, you can enjoy cozy moments inside even on cooler days.
Perfect for those who want to experience camping with a little extra comfort.

At Main Camp Resort in Zellingen, you can expect modern and well-maintained facilities for a comfortable stay directly on the River Main. Our new sanitary building offers everything you need for a relaxed and enjoyable camping experience.

Our sanitary facilities inside
Guests have access to barrier-free showers, toilets and washbasins, as well as dishwashing facilities.
When booking a motorhome pitch, showers can be added optionally. This is ideal for travellers who are usually self-sufficient but would like to enjoy the comfort of our modern sanitary facilities when needed.
A shower for your four-legged friends
We have also thought of your four-legged companions: A dedicated dog shower ensures your dog is clean again quickly after a walk.
Modern barrier system with licence plate recognition
At Main Camp Resort in Zellingen, our modern barrier system with automatic licence plate recognition ensures convenient entry and exit. Your licence plate is detected, allowing the barrier to open automatically – for a fast, secure and hassle-free arrival and departure.
Self check-in / check-out & service point
At Main Camp Resort in Zellingen, our modern self check-in / check-out service point allows for flexible arrivals and departures – even outside reception hours. Guests can independently find and book available pitches, while tourist information about the River Main region is accessible 24/7 at any time.
Excursions & attractions
Outdoor pool Zellingen
Located right next to the campsite, the Zellingen outdoor pool offers refreshment, fun and relaxation during the summer months. It features a large 50-metre swimming pool, a non-swimmer pool with a wave slide and a baby pool for younger guests.
There is also a shaded playground, a beach volleyball court and a kiosk serving food, drinks and ice cream – perfect for a relaxing family day out.
Dining in Zellingen
Just a few steps from Main Camp Resort in Zellingen, you will find the idyllic beer garden “Ankergarten” – located directly on the River Main and along the popular Main Cycle Path. Enjoy refreshing drinks, traditional Franconian snacks, warm meals and ice cream in a relaxed atmosphere with a beautiful river view.
In addition, Zellingen and the surrounding area offer a wide range of traditional inns, seasonal wine taverns and restaurants serving regional Franconian cuisine.
Main Cycle Path & Hiking
The nearby Main Cycle Path invites you to enjoy scenic bike tours along the River Main, while numerous hiking trails lead through the diverse natural landscapes of Franconia – perfect for active days outdoors.
Hiking and cycling maps are available free of charge at our reception.
Excursions & attractions
A great excursion for both adults and especially children is the Stockmann horse farm in Zellingen. It offers wonderful experiences around horses and is a popular destination for families and animal lovers.
Another highlight is the Retztal Llamas in Retzbach, where visitors can explore the beautiful Retz Valley on guided llama walks.
Both attractions offer great variety and make your holiday in the River Main region even more memorable.
